I SEE FIRE♛ WORDS ♛ TAGGED Ach, cold. He flinched a little, then cringed again as the wraith screeched. Ugh, he hated that sound. At Daja's words, the elf nodded sharply, tucking the orb into a safe pouch and drawing his sword. The dim light glinted off cool metal as the blond raised his sword, readying himself. He stepped back as Daja stepped forward to attack, eyes trained on the shadowy figure as it screamed again. Unfortunately, the attack seemed to do little but anger it. Eldak let out a quiet hiss of triumph as Maaren's shadows curled around the creature, binding it, if only momentarily. A smile of thanks given to Danny for blinding the creature.
Eldak danced closer, nimbly trying to avoid the ice projectiles. One managed to nick his ear, but the elf continued, closing the distance between him and the wraith rapidly. "IGNEUS GLADIUS!" An almost wild roar from the elf, and a fiery glint in his eye as his sword burst into flames, swiftly descending onto the wraith. If he hit, hopefully it would do significant damage, slicing through a considerable amount. If not, the elf would twist and try to regain some distance, all while firing off greenish fireballs at the creature. Hopefully, he wouldn't get hit. CODED BY ELECTRIC OF GANGNAM STYLE

The blinded Wraith continued to shriek as it was blinded, the tentacles furiously ripping apart the bindings. Eldak's strike hit, but it was at that moment that the Wraith finally tore through the last tendril keeping it still. The tentacles immediately seized Eldak, and seemed as though it were about to do something diabolical. However, the barrage of attacks had worn it out, so the Wraith just...started to fall. It fell through the floor, phasing through it as it went. However, Eldak was not incorporeal, so as soon as he hit the ground, he did not go through it, and if nothing was done soon, the tentacles would constrict him against the floor...
Meanwhile, Daja and Maaren, though unable to dodge the ice knives, managed to only get slight cuts. However, a thin layer of frost seemed to begin spreading from the injury...

I SEE FIRE♛ WORDS ♛ TAGGED He allowed for a grin of satisfaction as the weapon connected to its target, twisting in mid-air to avoid getting hit. From the corner of his eye, the elf saw the wraith break free, one of those terrifying shadow tendrils snaking towards him at a horrifying speed.
"Shit." Eldak almost lost his sword as the icy grip tightened around his torso. Tightening, suffocating. The blond kicked wildly, fighting the restraints, but another smoky tendril simply tightened around his neck. And then...he fell.
The elf swallowed a shriek as he plummeted downwards. Struggling, he managed to tilt his head enough to see the ground rushing up at him. Unfortunately, he wasn't going to be able to phase through. Rhosyn, the hummingbird, let out a terrified chirp, beating her wings strongly. The wind conjured by the creature slowed his descent by the slightest bit.
Again struggling to dislodge a tiny dagger by his leg. Hopefully it'd cut...but what were the chances of that? His sword arm twisted, desperately trying to sever the ties so that he wouldn't get snapped into two against the floor. A helpless glance his companions as he continued towards the inevitable landing.

What a horrifying creature. Even in Maaren's current state, with the Witch of the Wispwood's curse still in tact, he found himself unable to react in the Wraith's presence. His spell managed to slow it down, but only slightly, as his shadows merged with its terrifying form. When the creature opened its mouths to attack, Maaren could only stand and watch as if frozen in place, as the blades of ice shot towards him. The warlock was lucky to get away with only a scratch, though one on his shoulder, and it winced quite a bit. Had it been his arm, Maaren probably wouldn't have felt the pain quite as badly. From the wound, frost crystals were starting to spread. Maaren could see them at the edges of his shirt. This was no natural wound. Then again, this was no natural creature. Maaren was tired though. He had never needed to use his magic so much in such a short amount of time. He doubted he would be able to use very much more. However, upon seeing the Wraith attached to Eldak, the one who held the orb, Maaren knew he would have to do something. With the shadowy creature phasing through the floor, it was only a matter of time before it strangled Eldak. Maybe that spell again, just once more... The shadowy arms of Maaren's shadow magic once again sprung up from the floor. This time though, they snaked up in a circle around what remained of the creature, a little distance away from it and Eldak. Maaren's shadowy limbs attempted to ensnare the Wraith's limbs, tugging at them and trying to splay them upwards and outwards, closer to where the shadow magic had spawned. Hopefully this would keep the creature above ground for a little while longer, but more importantly, pull them off of Eldak so the man would have a moment to breathe safe again.

everyone / oh, this is gonna be good. So, apparently, there was this tree. And she had not gotten there when it first started. Showing up late what not something Elysia enjoyed. But after being sick for who knows how long, her short amount of help was going to have to do. Grappling vines up to the action, her eyes just went blank.
“What. The. Fuck.”
But lo and behold what was in front of her. A mortal's fucked up fantasy of being ravished by tentacles. How the mortals got a kick out of that, she would never know. Elysia twitched an eye – unsure of how she was supposed to help.
Calling on a soul would spell disaster for everyone that had already been there. With the amount of souls she had seen in her day, Elysia knew several that had a heightened imagination with these creatures.
“Aww shit...” The thoughts in her head were waved away before she concentrated on the task at hand. A jiggle of chest and a fist out, Elysia yelled towards the situation – whatever happening would just happen. “The fuck is going on here? Some crazy death, dark god summoning for bodily smothering times? Yer all crazy, but...” She pointed towards the tentacle. “You, little monster shit, What are you doing?” Like it would talk to her, but hey, it was worth trying. |

Tag: Daja VenatorWord Count: who cares... OOC: Testing all the way through. the way through. the way through. the way through. the way through. the way through. the way through. the way through. the way through. the way through. the way through. | So it seemed like Kuroth had been late to the rumours again, and that a few hours previously a group had left for Crann Mór, which was some hollowed out tree out in the middle of the forest. He hadn't planned on going there, but instead to chase the freaking bird that had eaten the pendant he had stored the essence he was looking for flown to it forcing him to go there.
At the location he climbed vines of the tree, which was luckily not too hard for a guy like him because he do indeed lift bro. It comes with his territory even if he isn't an Arnold. Pulling himself up he noticed something on the first floor a shadowy creation that he honestly wanted to evade as it came off to him as a literal creation of darkness whatever that means.
After having snug through the stairs to the second floor a sight of desperation meet him. Wounded people, and tentacles strangling a guy which he guessed was the wraight trying to get down to floor one. Of course, the most marvellous sigth was seeing Elysia being confused like you wouldn't believe.
“Don't just stand there, a guy is getting killed,” he scolded her as he activated the spell KEEP YOUR BACK STRAIGHT making his muscles grow to the level of a super sayian. Then he drew a black dagger running towards the tentacles to try to cut him free with the dagger and his strength of 1½ his own body weight.

Daja recoiled when she struck, and rolled away from the Wraith. She swore under her breathe as the Wraith's ice magic flared and it put our her fires. Fire it seemed, did not beat ice. So, of course, they'd have two offensive fire users. When the ice knives were shot, she tried to dodge out of the way. Unfortunately, she moved a little too slow, and an ice dagger scratching across her outer thigh. She hissed in pain, but initially ignored the wound. The thin layer of frost spreading out from the wound would go unnoticed for the moment. While her combat experience was very small, she knew enough that concentrating on current wounds made it more likely that you'd get more. She swore again when the Wraith seized Eldak and then went... incorporeal. It took her a long minute to figure out what the creature was doing. When she did, her mouth opened in a little 'o'. She darted forward, barely noticing Maaren's spell or the raging behemoth that Kuroth currently was. She slide to a halt next to Eldak, probably bumping into Kuroth along the way. She only spared the god on earth a quick glance before setting out to help him cut the elven man free. Dropping her sledgehammer (hopefully not on anyone), she grabbed at her small knife. It had looked pretty large when she was cutting her own palm, but now it looked pitifully small. She turned her body to Kuroth, trying to shield him from what she did next. Raising the knife above her head, she struck down on one tentacle, trying to set it on fire again. Assuming she struck, there would be a small blossom of flame, trying to catch the rest of them on fire. While Daja was immune to this effect, Eldak and Kuroth wouldn't be. Hopefully, the fire would be contained enough so that neither would catch. With one hand she buried a fist in Eldak's jacket, trying to pull him up. The other would continue stabbing into the tentacle. (the spoo Daja used was Striker of the Forge Lord )

Maaren's spell loosened the tentacles around Eldak, giving him room to start cutting at the tentacles. On his own, he would not have been able to cut through before the tentacles were able to tighten again, but with Kuroth and Daja's help, they were able to free him and further weaken the Wraith. The severed tentacles fell through the floor, and the screeches of the Wraith gradually sounded more distant until the sound faded away. The group had no time to celebrate, however, as they soon hear a familiar cough. " Not many fleshmen can fight a Wraith, but this changes nothing! You are intruders in our forest, and you are not welcome here!" The sound of the voice came from above, and a figure quickly fell from above and landed before the group. It was a humanoid entity, but its body was made entirely of tree bark, a magical staff infused in its right arm. The entity spoke again. " I am Oakthur, one of the great Tree Guardians of this forest! It is our job to get rid of intruders...like you! Don't start with excuses - poverty, persecution, curiosity - I've heard it all before and I don't care! We've been protecting this forest from fleshmen like you for centuries, and like those who came before you, you will be DESTROYED!" Oakthur slammed its staff against the ground, summoning three bulbs from the floor. One began running at Daja, one at Kuroth, and one at Eldak. While this was happening, Oakthur began spinning the staff over its head preparing another spell... The End Challenge has begun: Defeat Oakthur!

I SEE FIRE♛ WORDS ♛ TAGGED "Thanks." The word was barely breathed out before he hit the ground with a thump, and thankfully without being strangled. He rolled to a side, scrambling to stand up and tightening his grip on the sword. His sides hurt like hell, but he'd deal with that later. With a hiss, the elf swung around upon hearing a familiar cough.
Apparently, a pair had joined in when he was busy being killed. He spared them a glance before something else caught his attention. Well, this strange tree-man certainly had it. But not in a good way.
"Screw you too, Oakthur," he growled. Eldak hadn't quite recovered from the previous attack and his legs still felt a little unsteady, though the rush of adrenaline when a bulb rushed towards him cured that.
Protecting? From what, being cut down? The tree was pretty damned interesting, and cutting it down was the last thing Eldak wanted to do. Heck, no time to think right now.
With another roar, the elf met the running bulb in an explosion of flames, sending the strange greenish sparks flying. His own viridescent eyes blazed with an excited flame, fueled by the battle. If it hit, the fire would slice through, then splutter out shortly after, given the user's lack of energy. If not, Eldak would send a spinning kick towards the bulb, hopefully not getting his leg chewed off.
It was then he realised that Oakthur was spinning the staff in preparation for another spell. Regardless of the outcome of the previous attack, the man would unlatch the dagger by his leg, sending it spinning towards his opponent. Hopefully, the distraction would buy enough time for someone else to stop the spell, or stop it himself. If not...then well damn. CODED BY ELECTRIC OF GANGNAM STYLE

Even as the Wraith had started sinking and disappearing, even as it had hold of Eldak, Danyal kept his concentration on that blinding spell. It fizzled away, and by the time the scout was able to react, so much had already happened. Maaren's tentacles, Elysia and Kuroth joining the fray, and the eventual defeat of the wraith - Danny merely watched, afraid to interfere with a crucial spell, or get in the way of Daja's badass (but scary) abilities. In the end, the wraith was defeated. But, before he or anyone else could breath a sigh of relief, they'd heard that voice. He glanced up to see Oakthur, the douche tree man descend into the group. Danny jumped backward, readying his daggers, then thought back to the scales of the beast from before - if those deflected his blades, surely this bark would as well. Just then, Oakthur summoned forth those three bulbs, causing Danyal to be simultaneously worried and confused as to their purpose. No time to contemplate things now. Just as Eldak before him, he knew he had to act. Being near Eldak, and also being friends with the man previously, Danny focused on his actions for a moment. He saw the elf reach for the dagger, and grinned. As Eldak loosed that dagger toward Oakthur, Danny moved to the outside of the ring of combatants. He skirted around them, hoping that Oakthur would be distracted by the attack headed his way, and being very sneaky himself, he tried to remain unnoticed. He moved behind Oakthur, being as silent as possible, and prepared a spell once more. From his position behind Oakthur, he sheathed his daggers (they would be useless now anyway) and felt dark magic coursing through his body, from his toes to his fingers. He directed that energy toward Oakthur, and it wrapped around him, then coalesced into his eyes. If this worked, it might make him unable to aim his upcoming spell. If it didn't, Danny had to rely on his teleportation. Either way, he was in it now. [] Danny cast "Now You See Me" on Oakthur []

Daja breathed a little sigh of relief as the tentacles began to recede. Now that Eldak was safe, she stopped her frenzied stabbing. Flipping the little knife close, she reached down picking up her sledgehammer. Thinking herself out of the clear, she flashed Eldak and Kuroth a happy, little smile. After all, they'd done great! And they didn't even need to destroy the Wraith's Heart. The smile turned to a frown when she heard the cough. Her eyes darted upwards to the source of the noise, and quickly caught sight of the wooden man, as he made his expeditious decent down. Guess they wouldn't be heading up those stairs just yet. Her eyes narrowed. We? So there were more of this oak men? Still there was one sentiment that Daja could agree with. "Yeah," she nodded in agreement with Eldak. "Screw you, buddy." She might not agree ideologically with the whole concept of isolated magic village, but this was her home now, and she swore to help defend it. Besides, it was hard to like someone who was hell-bent on killing you. She jumped attempting to dodge around the bulb sent her way. Hopefully, the frost wound that she received earlier would not interfere with her mobility. She didn't know what Oakthur was planning to do with them, however she felt it was best to focus on him first rather than wasting time on whatever he'd summoned. He might be able to augment them, and make them stronger. Attacks hopefully dodged, she'd charged straight towards Oakthur. While she wasn't exactly sure what Danny was doing, she did catch him dart off. Assuming that Danny would either attempt to surport them from behind or try to launch a sneak attack. Either way, she felt pretty comfortable with charging straight towards the enemy--especially with back-up from Eldak. With so many attacks coming from so many angles, one of them was bound to hit. Besides, if Oakthur was preparing an offensive spell better for it to hit her since she'd been barely wounded, than Eldak who was still recovering. Drawing back her hammer, she swung. Second verse, same as the first. A little bit louder and a whole lost worse. Well, hopefully. ((Just in case you forgot what it did. I'm really sorry Daja's attacks are so repetitive >.> ))

The bulb charging Eldak disintegrated into flames upon meeting Eldak's attack, his knife hit Oakthur in the shoulder. The Tree Guardian regarded the attack with minor annoyance as it leveled its staff in Maaren's direction. That was when it went blind. Still, it tried to keep its aim steady, but the impact of Daja's hammer sent it way off course (as well as sent a hefty chunk of wood away from the rest of it. As Oakthur spun from the attack, a group of thorny vines appeared by the floor five feet away from Maaren. The vines reached for him, but off target, they couldn't grab hold.
The bulb that had targeted Daja turned around and continued to chase her. Its purpose ceased to be a mystery when the one attacking Kuroth jumped at his face and detonated, sending high-velocity splinters in all directions, and the remaining bulb looked like it was winding up to do the same. Oakthur spun as it stumbled, desperate to put out the fire.
"You think you can defeat me with fire and blinding? Ha! Your parlor tricks do not scare me! Nothing scares-"
And that's when the shrieking came back.
"Please tell me that was one of you fearing your inevitable demise. Anyone? No? Oh shit..."
The shadowy beast burst through the floor, not bothering to become incorporeal, instead utilizing brute force to get back into the action. The Wraith had chosen a new form, opting for a massive centipede-like creature with four scythes extending from the body emerging from the floor. It still, however, seemed to have its wounds from before, with lines of crimson gradually spreading over its body, and it seemed to be heaving with discomfort. As it shrieked, Maaren and Daja felt an intense pain as the frost around their wounds blackened and began to spread.
"I THOUGHT YOU KILLED IT! Nope! This isn't happening! I thought it was safe to come out. Of course the first group that pisses off the Wraith gets it to play dead until I show up! Great. Fantastic! Well thanks to the guy who blinded me, 'cause at least I don't have to see how we die. It's official! Worst. Day. Ever."

I SEE FIRE♛ WORDS ♛ TAGGED The elf let out a victorious whoop as the bulb disintegrated, flashing a grin at his comrades. He flinched at the explosion, raising his sword to block the worst of the splinters. Then he heard the shrieking. His mouth falling into a little 'o' shape as the wraith burst through the floor. Eldak leaped backwards, stumbling a little but maintaining an otherwise perfect fighting stance. Green eyes glanced worriedly at his companions as the frost blackened. That had to hurt. The blond turned back to the wraith, eyes narrowing and crouching lower, ready to dart forward. "Shut up..." He directed a glare towards Oakthur, before simply ignoring the....tree-man and raising his sword. "Rhosyn?" The hummingbird heard his call, now hovering a little away from him as she started her spell. A strong gust of wind gathered around the minuscule figure and a disorientating humming sound filled the enclosed space. "Cover your ears!" The elf's yell was barely heard over the familiar's spell, his own hands clapping over pointed ears and taking a step back. The wind buffeted the wraith, along with the now extremely loud humming sound. Hopefully, it would disorientate the wraith for long enough for him to get an attack in. The noise had drifted away from his companions now, so they were probably unaffected. His hands tightened on the sword now, and Eldak rushed forward, bringing the sword down on the wraith with a grunt of effort. If it hit, the steel would hopefully be strong enough to slice off a limb or two, if not Eldak would simply retreat and try again, hopefully not getting hurt. Maaren was a lucky young man. When Oakthur descended, he wasn't too sure what to make of the strange tree man. He was too worried about that Wraith, for he had a feeling the danger of that dark creature wasn't quite over yet. Of course, in his distraction, Maaren almost ended up getting squeezed and poked to death by thorny vines, which sprouted from the wooded floor close to him. Luckily his comrades had blinded Oakthur, so his spell didn't quite hit. Maaren sidestepped, turning his attention back to the tree man. Should he harm him? Well he certainly didn't seem friendly, or willing to listen to reason. Maaren knew it was wrong to hurt an opponent who wanted to talk things out first, but Oakthur went straight to fighting. Perhaps Maaren was permitted to help his allies in this sort of situation. He raised his hand to cast a spell on the tree man, when Maaren felt a searing, icy cold pain in his shoulder again. His arm dropped, crippled from the pain, and his other hand clutched the now blackening wound. Yes, that Wraith wasn't finished just yet. But, for the time being, Oakthur seemed like the greater threat, as he was less wounded. Plus, the elven man's familiar seemed to be taking care of the Wraith, which would hopefully give Maaren a short opportunity to avoid it. The young warlock made sure to keep his distance from both the Wraith and Oakthur, and, trying his best to ignore the pain from the Wraith's wound, he raised his left hand at the tree man. A thick black mist formed around Oakthur. It wouldn't do much in obscuring his vision, as Danyal had already taken care of that, but hopefully the shadow magic's ability to sap away strength would give them some more time, and enough of an edge to split their forces and take down the Wraith for good. Danny was satisfied that their combined efforts had caused Oakthur to stumble; despite the fact that this tree thing was powerful, he had confidence that the group could take him down, so long as they kept their wits about them, and used their abilities to their full extent. Watching Oakthur get beat on was a pretty guilty pleasure to watch as well. Smug bastard. A grin came over his face.
And faded away as soon as that screech returned.
Oakthur was yelling. Eldak was yelling. People were stumbling around. At his warning, Danny quickly pocketed his daggers and put his hands over his ears as the wind filled the area. Damn impressive attack from that little bird. He wondered if Onork's familiar was as powerful, that silly squid-thing. What of his own familiar, Sally, who was --
Danyal could feel a heat starting to rise near his chest. Sally had been inside Danny's jacket, tucked away in a pocket, resting and listening, taking in the world around her. Her master had told her to stay put, and stay put she did. Even when he had been jostled around by the chameleon, even when he cut his hand to give a sacrifice to the pedestal. All the while, she sat and waited.
But all of that damn yelling was starting to get on her nerves. She poked her head out from the jacket and watched as Oakthur screamed and yelled about the wraith. Her scales started shifting to a bright orange color, burning hot from her core. It didn't burn Danny, but he could still feel the heat, and knew that she would burn someone else if they were to touch her. "Sally, it's okay, just--" Danny was going to try to sooth her, but she would have none of it. She was angry, and she wanted the obnoxious treeman to stop yelling.
The salamander's mouth was closed, and her cheeks started bulging. To Danny, it looked as if she was about to vomit. He quickly, but gently, grabbed her around the body and lifted her in front of him. At that very moment, a stream of lava erupted from her mouth, like a volcano that was pointed forward, directly at Oakthur. Danyal grinned wide. "It's gettin' hot in here, boys and girls!"
(( Sahalazraddin is using her "Breath of Magma" spell, aiming it at Oakthur. ))
