We're gonna kick things off in July with something I've talked about here and there but is now actually happening: a three part event that will span across the month of July! Rewards are available for all three parts of the event, even just for participation, and a special reward to those who stick it out for all three. Each part of the event will operate differently, but each one is similar to an event we have done in the past: Part 1 will be like the Easter Egg Hunt, Part 2 will resemble the Beach Festival, and Part 3 will resemble the Investigate Crann Mor event. Now, without further padding, here is the description for Part 1 of the Summer Wedding.
Two mages from the families of the Hollow's founders will be married during the Summer Festival, so it doesn't take a Time Wizard smarter than the one we have to tell you that a big party is in this place's future. To kick off the festivities, the groom has proposed a challenge to the more adventurous mages in town. He wants the most beautiful stone in Uaimh Ceo to adorn the bride's ring, and is offering a reward to the mage that can bring it to him. Of course, those who partake in the challenge and come in with the not-quite best stone will still be compensated for their efforts (after all, the in-laws need jewelery too). As for the stones you choose not to present, well, he hopes you'll find a good use for them.
The event will open July 1 at 12:01 AM Eastern Time, and end exactly one week later (July 8 at the same time). From there, it will operate much like the Egg Hunt Event. Post in the thread about how your character comes across a stone, and an admin will give you its quality, which will be determined by a combination of random generation and quality of the post. To prevent an overabundance of stones, you may post in this part of the event up to 4 times. We recommend you spread out your posts so you can more easily interact with others in the event (after all, it's less fun to roleplay alone).
The quality of the stone will have 2 rankings, a general one you will see before the event's end, and a more specific number only the admins will know, so as to keep up the suspense. When finding a stone, the admin will tell you which of the following 5 quality levels it is: Dull, Okay, Nice, Fantastic, Beautiful. What type of stone you find is up to you (such as diamond, emerald, amethyst, etc.), but we will provide the ranking. At the end of the event, you will choose which of your stones you will present to the groom, and the rest will be bought for Essence by the groom's mysterious appraiser. The appraiser will them reveal the specific quality of the stones presented (which will be a number out of 100), and prizes will be awarded.
