narcissistic and self-involved if there's one thing brae can do it's tell a good story about the nobility of mages! he's a troubadour by trade and, before moving to dorcha hollow, he doubled as something of a con man and previously dabbled with ardently anti-magic forces out of curiosity. even further in the past, he was something of an apprentice to a wholly arrogant but skilled luthier named se oræfta. rn, though, brae would like everyone in dorcha hollow to fix a nasty arm tat/curse that renders him a lil unable to lie sometimes. anyway he needs everything pls. F R I E N D S – brae loves to surround himself with people! he loves to listen to whatever things they have to say as well, especially people who are as far travelled as him – exchanging stories and all? people who are particularly skilled in areas will work too! additionally, i could see brae sticking to people who resemble something most refined and upper class in dorcha hollow and anyone who perhaps came from humbler roots might have to put up with brae's pretentiousness. people who are very social will suit him especially since he likes to do group stuff! like parties, dude, who doesn't like to get hella drunk? well that who is someone he probably doesn't want to be friends with! in that sense, if there are some more naïve people who want to get thoroughly bad influenced on brae is up for it! dorcha hollow be damned, it may be a small community but that shouldn't stop people from living a little B) old friends could work as well. brae is exceptionally well travelled and people either knowing him during his apprenticeship or in his twenties while he sort of doubled as a troubadour and a con man! also, it's cheesy but childhood friends! brae has a pretty fancy lineage – his father was brother to a baron and later took over when the baron died. people from that time could work but this is kind of a long shot and idk idc! basically somehow drinking buddies and friends that can put up with a carefree, energetic, vain but worryingly unsympathetic attitude. E N E M I E S – brae is not a particularly nice person. he likes listening to people but that's only as long as someone interests him – he's fairly bored by people who aren't well-travelled otherwise. furthermore his self-centred nature may get him in people's bad books and he's horribly elitist and fancy :') ALSO REALLY CONTROLLING?? hell yeah he's easily likely to dislike someone if they criticise him. even if the critique is meant nicely too! i could see him immediately bristling people who don't like him whether they make it evident or not anyway because i have a feeling he wouldn't be comfortable around people who are even quiet about disliking him. he's also really controlling and manipulative so that can get into really nasty conflict if you're up for it! or maybe your character just doesn't like obnoxious human musicians? additionally, i guess there is the more amoral side of brae that a lot of people might disagree with. he's done terrible things and doesn't rly care about how people feel about it 8( so if you don't like murderers or liars ahaha i guess there's this fella? he definitely doesn't see murder as anything wrong unless it's something intended on him – then it's repugnant obviously! brae's previous career could garner some areas but he tended to take advantage of the paranoia of non-magic users but who knows you could come up with something inventive? R O M A N C E – brae tends to get infatuated with people who he finds are fascinating! he can very quickly grow infatuated with people and he doesn't particularly care about reciprocation – fawning over people is fun enough as it is for him. frankly, whoever falls beneath his interest should probably be a bit worried because he will probably do things he thinks they like without their ~say-so and they might not even like it. so one-sided crushes on his side totally :') reciprocal love could work too? it might be a terrible fun relationship because WOW brae's horrible! he rly likes romance but it should be noted he's asexual otherwise. he doesn't really experience much of a libido and he doesn't desire sex in the slightest! while he doesn't particularly mind heavy petting i think he's just content being head over heels for someone? HMM at any rate all this aside he sort of needs to sort himself out first? yes! O T H E R S – there are all sorts of plots i would love to do! frankly, i think he's looking for various doctors and other magical medical professions to try and fix his arm yeah? if someone's interested in musical instruments he could try playing teacher ahahaha. :L also plots with other bards could be cute? they can make instruments together… yes... um i'll add more stuff here as i think of it… drools trying to think of cute plots tbqh... oh actually, brae's a storyteller yeah? he twists myths and common stories for other's entertainment and plots can happens here hehe *u* |
