CRANN CHAMELEON
Description: This large lizard in many ways resembles its ordinary lizard counterpart, with a few major exceptions. First, the Crann Chameleon is huge, typically double the size of a fully grown human. The Crann Chameleon is also far more gifted at blending into its surroundings, as it does so by magical means, making it a very dangerous stealth creature. Fortunately, Crann Chameleons are not typically aggressive, and do not feed on humans. However, they are territorial, and will attack any who bother them or get too close for comfort.
Location: As the name implies, Crann Chameleons are found in and on Crann Mor, as it is the only tree large enough for them to climb on.
Abilities: The Crann Chameleon has a magical ability to camouflage, and even the most well-trained trackers will have difficulty pinpointing them while they are hiding, though a careful or magically enhanced eye can pick up the distortion in light caused by their movement. Though usually lethargic, when threatened, they can move extraordinarily quickly and quietly, a trait that, when combined with their camouflage, makes them almost impossible to pin down. Their tongues can lash out up to twenty feet, and are coated in an adhesive saliva to latch onto prey or other surfaces (their tongues are strong enough to support their weight when they use their tongues to swing). The Crann Chameleon also has a strangely powerful resistance to Fire, and their skin is difficult to pierce.
Weaknesses: The Crann Chameleon is especially vulnerable to cold, so Ice magic is a strong asset for those who intend to hunt them or accidentally invoke their wrath. Also, though their skin is difficult to pierce, it bruises easily from bludgeoning, which also damages their bones and internal organs with surprising ease.
