Blood Luster one hundred nineteen April 9 (human) December 17 (vampire) | female heterosexual unemployed (murderer) | |
Eveline Delamort |
★ APPEARANCE
The vampire's skin is paper white. Porcelain, even. As if were you to touch it, the stuff might crumble underneath the mere weight of your fingertips. Eveline is anything from delicate, though; her long-lived vampirism has enhanced her physical form to flawlessness. Her beauty is undeniable and beyond tempting. Even if she didn't flaunt herself--which she does--she would never be able to really hide with such perfect features. The structure of her face is sharp elegant, and falsely youthful. Her skin is enviably free of any mark or imperfection. With a flare for vanity, and an odd sense of humor, Eveline can usually be found wearing lots of red and sporting a large flower in her hair. Despite her slight frame and short stature, Eveline is physically strong, moreso than any man you'll find. She can run faster than a trained sprinter, too. In addition, her canines have long since been elongated and 'naturally' made sharper than needles. Coupled with her bloodred eyes, it belies her vampiric nature. As if that weren't enough, Eveline's sire went for the cliché and left a scar on her neck. It never healed, and if the girl has any intention of keeping a low profile, she'll have to keep it hidden.
It may look like this child has never seen the light--and that's rather true. Of course, as a human, she was in nature as much as any other child, but with the gift of the undead, she was banished from the light forever. She cannot set foot into sunlight, and magical light shuns her nearly as much. If any fire makes contact with her skin, it causes severe burns instantly that take a long time to heal. If hit purposefully with fire magic, it may easily be fatal. Because of this, Eveline is incapable of handling light and fire magic as well.
★ PERSONALITY
Eveline is known among her clan as "The Blood Luster" for a reason: she can never have enough. Though charming and seductive enough to rival the most skilled of vampires, the girl can't get over her taste for blood. With the latest war--lesser beings are always warring for one reason or another--vampires have to draw further into hiding like any other magical creature. It has severely restricted her consumption, though she still needs to feed on a bare minimum of one animal (though humanoid is preferred) every day to sate her hunger. If she can get past the initial crave for someone's blood, however, she's not so unpersonable. Sure, a little violent--a lot violent--and sinister, but if you're into that kind of thing, she's the perfect girl for you. She prefers to think of herself as 'fun-loving'.
★ HISTORY
Nineteen. That's how old Eveline was the winter she was sired. And what a gift she received! Power rivaling that of a minor god, and the ability to handle magic. So what if sunlight burned her skin? It was worth losing to join the beautiful darkness. Eveline doesn't remember much of her short life as a human child. It was short and insignificant. She vaguely remembers being demurely attractive and living among the nobility of a colony. A colony that no longer existed. One she, herself, had helped massacre and convert in equal parts--well, she killed, the elders converted. Her past life was so different from this one. Well, if you could call it life: you have to technically die for a short while before the vampire magic takes hold.
Oh, but as a vampire, what she has been able to do! Bluntly, whatever she wants. So what if there was a decade she had spent on the run? She had killed the man and his righteous followers in the end. Their end, not hers. Eveline has spent decade upon decade doing as she please. From time to time, there have been orders by her superiors, but the assignments were always fun to partake in. And it always enhanced her skills in magic. Even though she has only been allowed to learn so few spells thus far, she learned from the best: the Delamort clan. As if being sired weren't enough of a blessing, the girl had the luck to be born into the most powerful and widespread clan in the world. Unfortunately their numbers have dwindled in recent years, but so have vampires as a whole.
Due to her malicious tendencies, Eveline has needed to move from town to town every so often, even living in the wild for spans of years when the need arises. The larger the city, the longer she can go unnoticed. The smaller the town, the quicker she's able to wipe out the populace. For the most part, she travels alone. Not always, though, and she's had a few long term lovers in the past, of which are two persisting relationships: with her sire and a boy Eveline herself sired.
Since war broke out, all the mortals are suspicious, meaning Eveline is having more and more trouble hiding in their societies. She had recently decided to go back into the wild again, to wait out the war with her vampire son. Despite ever increasing danger, Eveline is just as carefree and fun-loving as always. During one killing spree (one of the decreasingly few she was allowed to execute) the girl and her child entered a dark forest positively dripping with magic. The darkness called them and the pair was spilling blood on the trees within moments. Though enticing, the forest was not so forgiving: Eveline has become separated from her lover. That was less than a week before she walked into an annoyingly lit and populated little corner of the foreboding forest. When asked, a local called the place Dorcha Hollow. Eveline would hollow it out, alright. Wait, no: she had to tone it down. Her bloodlust had gotten her in greatly increasing amounts of trouble with the onset of this war. This was going to be a hard chapter in her life, the girl could simply feel it.

★ MAGIC
PRIMARY SPECIALIZATION
SANGUIMANCY (offense)
Blood magic. The magic all vampires are skilled in. The magic the elders of the Delamort clan passed on to Eveline. Playing with their food is an understatement with this magic: vampires manipulate blood skillfully to harm and influence their prey before the kill. Just like the vampires that cast them, these spells are powerful with the dark element.
MANIPULATE (dark)
Blood is the giver of life. It is present in all creatures and is essential to their health and being as a whole. The liquid runs all throughout creatures, and when manipulated, can 'encourage' the target. An animal or humanoid will be influenced for a short period (Eveline can hold concentration if uninterrupted to control a humanoid for two posts, and an animal for three) and a skilled practitioner is able to make the unlucky soul appear completely normal. Prolonged concentration is required to keep this spell active. This is not mind control; the target's thoughts will still be their own. Someone with exceeding mental or physical prowess may even be able to break the vampire's hold on them. The spell can, however, make a person act against their will, such as forcing them to walk somewhere or speak words that are not their own. It cannot be used in a fatal capacity (jumping off a cliff for example) and does not give the caster power over the target's magic, nor can the target be forced to attack.
DRAIN (null - blood)
A useful spell for use on an evasive foe. Of course, any good vampire should be able catch its prey with ease, but why not toy with it first? This spell will transfer the life force in the blood from target to user, harming an opponent and revitalizing the caster. Unfortunately, Eveline has fallen out of practice with the spell. At best she will be able to make an opponent feel like they missed a night of sleep while she will feel fully rested and energetic.
POISON (null - blood)
If one can manipulate the blood and even the inherent life force in it, one should be able to change it as well. This spell alters the blood chemistry so that the body rejects it and can't nourish itself. If done right, a vampire will still be able to feed on the target. At such a low level, this spell is not fatal and will only cause sickness (poor concentration and flu-like symptoms lasting two posts).
SECONDARY SPECIALIZATION
SCUROLOGY (support)
Creatures of darkness, vampires easily fade into the shadows. By using their magic, they can also manipulate them for stealth purposes. After all, what better way is there for a predator to catch prey than deception and seduction?
GLAMOUR (dark)
Vampires are already beautiful and seductive, but sometimes they need to hide. Sometimes a mortal prefers an appearance they don't naturally have. This is a simple spell to disguise the user's appearance. At this level, it can't do more than alter a feature or two--Evenline may be able to hide the scar that converted her and change her hair, but anyone familiar with her would still recognize her face. These illusions last an entire thread, though are easily dispelled. Any amount of sunlight or perhaps some equivalent (a light spell or presence of many bioluminescent flora) or even a good startle will remove the glamour. The spell is not usable twice in one thread.
SENSE (null - blood)
An excellent skill for detecting prey. The user can detect any creature with blood nearby (no more than shortly outside of a room, not across the lake) for a short amount of time (two posts if concentrating).
