Venator stood by the lake bed shrouded in darkness, sword and shield drawn. He gazed across the lake, contemplating, wondering if any others were brave enough to join him in his crusade. That one girl brought up the vampires, though he didn't know enough about her to tell if she had the spine for vampire hunting (oh the irony!). Venator knew vampires with stronger magical abilities were drawn to the lake, so that was where he had chosen to make his stand against them. Maybe if he could kill the stronger ones, the others would get the message and leave, or be angered into going after Venator, in which case he would just kill the rest of them. After all, if he could fell some stronger ones, the weaker bloodsuckers would be no problem.
His armor protected him from their bite, and his cold heart protected him from their charm. It was time for these monsters to meet their nightmare.

Ahh the lake. Certainly not the place to go for an evening stroll. Danger was always around the corner in the Dark Forest, or so people had told Aislinn. Not that they questioned the woman when she asked for the way out to the lake. What was she doing out here though? Scouting...perhaps? Aislinn wasn't too sure herself, but she had wanted to see the lake, and see if there was anything interesting about that she could make use of.
Walking along though, she did come across something interesting. Certainly nothing of use, yet, but intriguing nonetheless. A man, she could only assume, very large in stature and fully clad in heavy armor. Aislinn had never seen a wizard in so much armor. Most wore silly hats and robes. Okay, that was a terrible stereotype, but her opinion stood regardless.
"Good evening," Aislinn called out to the man. Armor. Armor... oh yes, she had heard of such a man actually! He was hunting for vampires. Well now, this put Aislinn in something of a bind. With her pale skin, lithe figure, and reddish eyes, she probably looked like one of the bloodsuckers. Dear oh dear, what trouble was she getting herself into this time. Well, surely the hunted wouldn't call out to their hunter, right? "I wouldn't exactly call this a nice place for a walk though. May I ask what you are doing out here? Playing dumb was always a good option.

Venator immediately turned his sword toward the woman, pointing it at her chest. Had the vampires come running already? Perhaps not, as Venator studied the woman, she seemed somewhat familiar. Great, now he was recognizing the mages he had to protect. The idea of growing more comfortable with them like this disgusted him. Nevertheless, she had a peculiarly distinct appearance that made her presence here seem to be more than a coincidence. He had never noticed her with fangs, but that could be a slight application of a disguise spell. He had dealt with vampires before, and he knew their tricks. However, since Venator was a protector now, he couldn't assume the worst and just kill. He had to know what this woman was. If she wasn't a vampire, she could aid him in the hunt, and if she was, perhaps she could lead him into a trap for the bloodsuckers to ambush him. Then he would have them all in one place. But if she was a vampire, he couldn't let her know this was his plan. He had to ask her a question to make her think she had the opportunity to fool him.
"Show me your teeth," Venator said. "Now."
