Summoner's Pet One April 15 | Genderless SEXUALITY Unknown Unemployed | |
Clove |
★ APPEARANCE
This little thing walks around, always shrouded in a dark cloak. The exact color of the cloth is hard to determine as the hue seems to change with different lighting. A hood that seems too large for the five-foot-tall creature conceals a pair of horns that lie close to vis head and cast shadows over vis four strange, yellow eyes. Without the cloak, any observer would immediately label ver 'demon'. And I suppose that's what ve is.
★ PERSONALITY
A being that summons things of darkness must be evil, right? It hasn't been hard for Clove to convince verself of that. With a dead master and barely any identity of vis own yet, what is Clove supposed to think? Ve doesn't feel evil, but the things ve's summoned... They clearly aren't as benign. Clove is trying to discover verself and is still, essentially, a blank slate.
★ HISTORY
One night in mid-Spring, with the power of a full moon and his own long-practiced skills, a Summoner created a new being. It was more than just calling forth a creature from another dimension, more than just harnessing the power of a demon--he had created one! It wasn't a baby, either. No, the Summoner thought it a mature adult. Well, mature physically. The thing was born as any other creature: innocent, new, impressionable. No sooner had he named the thing than its untethered magic brought destruction. The Summoner didn't live through this, but the creature did. It left without understanding. Without knowing anything of the world. With only a name: Clove.
Taking only vis master's cloak with it, Clove was left to wander the wilderness on ver own. Ve fed on whatever ve could find and ran from those who saw ver; mortals weren't the most accepting of a demon that couldn't control its magic. The woods were much friendlier to Clove. When imps were accidentally spawned, there were no humans to attack Clove. The wilds were a place where the demon could start to get a handle on ver powers.
It took months for the creature to stumble upon any civilization. not that Clove has any sense of time--what you might call a day could just as easily be a millennium to ver. But Clove did find this place. A town that seemed sculpted right out of the trees. It wasn't like anything else ve had seen before. Still, it had been ingrained in Clove that these 'humans' did not approve of vis existence. So ve had stayed on the outskirts for some time now. Perhaps these beings will be nicer than those Clove has encountered before.

★ MAGIC
PRIMARY SPECIALIZATION
Summoning (support)
The magic that created Clove is of a strange nature. It wasn't just any old summoning ritual, but a creation spell. Clove was made a being of pure magic. Since the only magic available was vis master's, it was copied Clove's own abilities. As a novice mage, Clove can only maintain one summoned creature at a time.
SUMMON FIRE CREATURE (null, fire)
There are realms beside this one brimming with magical creatures, among them demons. Sometimes, these creatures or their magic leaks into our own. And sometimes, that's not an accident. Clove is able to call upon a specific set of beasts, but can't always choose what specific being gets pulled through. This spell will summon one of the following fire creatures at random: hound, condor, elemental. A fire creature will be dispelled after five posts, when defeated, or its master dies or become unconscious. In addition to regular melee attacks, each creature has some control over fire in the form of an ability to aid its master in combat:
Hound - burning step, the ground smolders wherever the hound sets foot (small fires left by the footprints last one turn)
Condor - fire breath, the condor is able to shoot flames from its beak (flames reach up to 10 feet)
Elemental - wall of smoke, erects a barrier to hide something or someone (wall extends 7 feet high, 10 feet wide, and does not protect from spells)
SUMMON IMP (null)
Among the pests of the demon dimensions are imps. When not controlled, they fly about and attack mindlessly with teeth and claws, but have no magic. Imps only last two posts before being automatically dispelled.
SUMMON VARLET (null)
Not all creatures of other worlds are evil and violent. Some, though rare, are defenders of good. Among the weakest of this caste are varlets. They carry a shield and can absorb two beginner level offensive spells for their masters (or last two posts).
SECONDARY SPECIALIZATION
Pyromancy (offensive)
Since vis creation, Clove's magic has tamed. The destruction that ve once wrought unintentionally has been reduced to what few simple fire spells ve has taught verself.
WARM (fire)
A simple heating spell. It will warm the area no farther than two feet in front of the caster's outstretched palms. Enough to cook meat or cause light burns.
SPARK (fire)
A spell for fire starters. An ember is summoned to the caster's palm and can be used to catch any flammable material it touches on fire. The fire will last for two posts unless otherwise extinguished.
