n/a Eight Hundred one (801) November 15 | Male Asexual Time Watcher (Get It?) | |
Onork |
★ APPEARANCE
Onork is a small human, despite his age, due to the weird effects of time. He wears blue robes and a wide-brimmed pointy hat that always keeps his face obscured by shadow. If you ask him why, he will tell you that people tend to panic when they see a child's face with heavy wrinkles, so he's trying not to show it off. Fortunately, his eyes glow yellow, so you can at least tell when he is paying attention. He usually carries a wooden stick around, mostly because he thinks it completes the image.
★ PERSONALITY
When Whoever's-In-Charge picked someone to be a Time Watcher, they must have been thoroughly drunk when they picked Onork. Onork has absolutely no clue how his time magic works, and he's not really smart enough to figure out most of the finer details anyway. He tends to be clumsy and simple-minded, but he tries to be nice most of the time, which is good, because his attempts at being mean and angry are rather comical, since he's terrible at intimidation. Still, he's just trying to be nice, and not always successful because he gets grumpy frequently, but if you were a Time Wizard who had no control or grasp on your powers, wouldn't you be too?
★ HISTORY
When Onork was 4, he got lost in a large plain. Though his ability to get utterly lost in flat terrain close to a town should have proven him to be an awful candidate, Whoever's-In-Charge appeared before Onork and told him he was now a Time Watcher. As the centuries passed from there, Onork never figured out what his job as a Time Watcher actually was, and only learned a few things about his time magic, and none of those things involved being able to actually control it. Not all of his age is entirely accurate, as he accidentally travels forward in time occasionally, but is too bad at keeping track of his actual age to do anything other than ask someone what the date is. In fact, it was while walking through the forest when he walked right into a tree and accidentally went forward a year in time, when he saw a settlement there. Onork never wants to regain any of his lost time, because he knows what happens to future versions of him that travel back in time. The space-time continuum has a funny way of reasserting itself...

★ MAGIC
PRIMARY SPECIALIZATION Alter Time (Self)
Onork alters how time affects himself, this being completely unintentional in-character. This specialization is involved only with moving through time himself, and time is only altered for him. No one else feels the effects of magic in this specialization, though they certainly notice its effects. This specialization functions as support.
Hey Look! It's Me!
A future version of Onork who accidentally traveled back in time appears to provide brief assistance and insight. However, the future Onork will die in some bizarre manner not long after appearing, because the space-time continuum hates paradoxes, and will always eliminate the extra Onork in some way (the extra will always die before the end of the thread). Null Element.
Time Hiccup
Time stops for a random fraction of a second, giving Onork just a bit more reaction time. Lasts one post at most. Null Element.
Time Lag
Time stops for less then a minute from Onork's perspective, but continues to go by normally for everyone else. Any action he does or is done to him will have no effect until the spell wears off, though there is a 90% chance nothing will happen anyway, except that at the end of the spell's effect, Onork will suddenly disappear and reappear at whatever spot he moved to while time was lagging for him, and from his perspective, everything else will suddenly change from standing still to being at whatever point they moved to. Lasts one post. Null Element.
SECONDARY SPECIALIZATION Alter Time (Other)
This specialization involves magic where Onork concentrates and causes the flow of time to change for other people and objects. This is the inverse of his primary specialization, as only his target feels the effects, though he can certainly notice the effects. This specialization functions as offense.
Oldification!
Onork weakens the enemy by making them older...by a day. Unless said foe has a quick-acting terminal condition, this won't really mean anything other than disorienting the target for a post. Null Element.
Object Time Displacement
Onork summons a weapon or object from another time when in dire need. Of course it's never what he wants or expects it to be, but hey, it's something. Null Element.
