The Red buccaneer Twenty One June Twentieth | Male Pansexual Assassin | |
Eldak |
★ APPEARANCE
At first glance, Eldak looks completely like a regular human. Standing at 175cm, Eldak has bright blond hair stuck in a perpetually messy bed-head, vibrant green eyes that peer out beneath messy bangs (he does try to keep them neat at times!) and unblemished pale skin that is normally hidden by long-sleeved shirts and pants. Upon closer inspection, the young man doesn't look as "typically human" as you might have thought. His ears are a little more pointed than most, as are his white canine teeth. Startling green eyes have an almost feral glint to them half the time, especially when he's engaged in battle. Another point would be the strange symbols on his back. Arcane symbols are burnt into his flesh, swirling patterns along the pale skin covered by his clothes. If asked he claims that they never did hurt, for they were inflicted with strange elvish magic.
Yes, indeed, Eldak is an elf, a not-so-common Wood elf from a fallen royal line of mages. Before we move on to the present, we'll take a little look at the family when they were still around. Eldak has the appearance of a "typical' wood elf; the pale skin and blond hair and pale eyes, though green was a trademark of the royal line. A tradition was to burn the symbols of one's element into his or her back, with Fire-based elves in charge of that. As such, Eldak has a flamboyant swirling pattern across his back, closely resembling flames. A smaller pattern rolls across his back, this time fluid curves that curl and intertwine, representing the "Spirit" element Eldak possesses.
What he wears differs from time to time, occasionally his flamboyant pirate garb, sometimes donning a hardy dark hooded cloak over a green jacket, Sam-Browne belt, darker pants tucked into brown combat boots. Otherwise, he dresses to the occasion, and technically wears just about everything and anything within reason.
★ PERSONALITY
Much like his primary element, fiery would be an apt word to describe Eldak. He's easy to anger and passionate, meaning almost everything he does is impulsive. It makes people wonder how he's even an assassin, and a remotely successful one at that. Vibrant and brimming with energy, he's a constant ball of never-ending vigour and life. Sounds really nice and all, doesn't it.
Eldak is fiercely loyal to friends and comrades, and protective in situations that call for it. He understands and values freedom, so he's not too overbearing. Anyone who gets on his bad side faces fiery-eyed fury, for the elf is quite literally a raging demon when angered. Having lost his family at a fairly young age, he's largely independent and does not hesitate to use violence as a matter to resolve problems, though he will probably only deal minor injuries since he doesn't enjoy other people getting hurt.
Likes: swords, forests, the sea, animals, freedom
Dislikes: insects, snow, underground
★ HISTORY
Born in a small village of elusive elves hidden in the woods, Eldak was the eldest son of the royal family who ruled this particular woods. Due to the rapid deforestation of the woods, the village was already facing many dangers. As such, the normally peaceful elves turned to their gifts of magic, and old traditions resurfaced. At birth, each elf was to face a simple test of element affinity, then have the symbols of their two best burnt into their back painlessly by the fire-based mages.
Eldak had inherited the affinity of Fire and Spirit from his parents and was thus training to be a Guard, one who protected the forest from the hands of the those who dared to harm it. He was aware of the rioting against those who possessed magic, though the boy never did foresee the small-scale yet deadly war between the forest and the neighbouring city. In that skirmish, the royal line was all but eradicated, any remaining survivors fled fast and far. A little to the north of the dense forest, tall trees gave way to a gently sloping beach which lead to the underwater realm of their brethren sea elves. Disorientated and scared, Eldak fled to said beach, seeking refuge in one of the large caves there. At this time the elf was still young, a mere teen.
The sea elves took him in, recognising the young prince. He continued his training, though the ways of the sea elves were more vicious and fearsome than the wood elves. Being unable to breathe underwater, the elf would wander through human cities, making sure to disguise his elvish features as he did so. He did have a bunch of human companions, of whom he picked up several tricks.
A few more years later, Eldak had earned quite the name for himself as a young pirate and assassin. The company of those faithful friends (after a bit he discovered they were also runaway mages) led him quite far, and the elf led a fairly comfortable life for a while, until again his life was ripped apart by a brutal attack for those anti-magic people. Faced with advanced technology and weapons of war, the ship was quite literally blasted apart.
His ties to the elves hadn't been diminished in any way, and Eldak was saved by the sea elves who found him as he floated about the sea on a plank of driftwood. It was their words that informed him of Dorcha Hollow. Being unable to live with the underwater dwelling elves, he started his journey towards the Dark Forest, living off his job as an assassin.

★ MAGIC
PRIMARY SPECIALIZATION
|| plurimus ignis (roaring fire) ||
Eldak was born into a family of elvish mages, and had inherited an affinity for fire. As such, that is what he specialises in. Plurimus Ignis is a fire-based offensive magic, and Eldak's flames has a signature appearance; green-ish tints that dance at the edges of the otherwise normal flame.
IGNEUS GLADIUS (fiery sword)
A melee/mid-ranged spell that allows the user to engulf their selected weapon in a flame case, increasing damage dealt. Should the user be proficient enough, it is possible to simply wield a twig and turn said twig into a handle of a flaming whip, for example. Again, duration of time of this spell is dependent on how much energy the user is willing to sacrifice. Should the user continue to use this spell even after his or her energy is drained, the flame has a high chance of going out of control and injuring both friend and foe.
IGNEM PERCUSSERIT (fire strike)
A simple offensive spell that allows the user to send balls (or any simple shape for that matter) of fire towards an enemy, causing burns and wounds depending on the user's will. Depending on the user's natural affinity and energy levels, the spell can be repeated for multiple times, though extreme fatigue will be experienced if used more than five times by an inexperienced user.
IGNIS SPIRITUS (flame spirit)
User is able to summon an orb of fire, which takes on the shape of a creature that resembles the user at that given moment. Said creature has a limited amount of free will depending on the user's own concentration span, so should the user ever black out when using the spell, the creature will continue rampaging until almost all the user's energy is drained. Deals a high amount of damage depending on the user's own state. Can also be used in a less offensive form as a torch.
SECONDARY SPECIALIZATION
|| spiritus artificio (spirit craft) ||
It's not a crafting magic, but a null element. The Spirit element he possesses allows him to be in sync with nature, sensing the spiritual energies of inanimate objects or animals and manipulating them slightly.
VIRTUTE EXHAURIEBAT (energy drain)
A simple spell that allows the user to hook onto the energy of another object and drain the energy of that object. It applies to both living and non-living objects. For example, the user can drain the energy of a light-bulb or a plant, though the light bulb would blow or the plant would wilt. It's not as if the user can drain energy from anything and everything, overusing this spell will result in the opposite effect of extreme exhaustion.
FLEXIBUS MATERIAM (material manipulation)
Another elementary spell in which the user is able to move inanimate objects slightly, or imprint short messages of one to five words (or a small drawing) into objects. For example, the user would be able to move a small rock a few feet forward, but lifting it would require more energy and effort. Similarly, imprinting a message on a plant will require more effort as the plant is a living being, as opposed to imprinting a message onto a pebble.
