There was a lot going on all at once, and Danny was trying to figure out how best to respond. His spell had worked, and he was honestly a bit shocked by that - he didn't figure his first guess would be right, but there we have it! The giant berries blossomed and grew right before his eyes, and he was taken aback. He'd never seen that happen before, and wondered what kind of magic was coursing through the old Crann Mor.
Suddenly, that massive lizard started toward them, and though the scout obviously didn't know what had been there, he had suspected something was watching them. When it swung into view, Danny instinctively activated his "NOW YOU SEE ME, NOW YOU DON'T" spell, disappearing and reappearing a few feet backwards, safe from the Chameleon's reach. Though, truth be told, it didn't looks like the chameleon was particularly interested in him, or the warlock. Danyal breathed a sigh of relief, and, when he spotted those seeds on the ground, he darted forward. Never know what kind of magic one could rustle up out of these! Into the pockets they went. If he couldn't figure anything out, perhaps he could trade it to an herbalist later.
He moved backward to his safe spot once again, looking over to Maaren. "Yeah, it suits me pretty well. Never thought it'd answer a riddle, but hey, versatility, huh?" He chuckled and grinned, speaking in hushed tones as he took a few steps toward the man. When the warlock's eyes went red, a smile unconsciously slipped over Danny's face, and he followed Maaren's gaze to the chameleon. When the creature was blinded, Danny's eyes widened, and he grinned. "Wow. Nicely done, friend. Seems we've got similar abilities." Though his own blinding spell drew on different abilities, they had the same end effect.
Daja entering the tree made Danny feel a bit better about the situation as a whole. It would seem that she added an element of muscle that the two men didn't possess. It also gave Danny the chance to focus on the lizard without worrying about Maaren getting hurt; after all, he had no idea how strong or able the warlock was, although Daja looked quite capable herself. "I respect wantin' to live and let live, lady, but I don't want it waiting down here, all pissed off. You get Maaren up there, I'll be up in a jiffy."
Without hesitation, Danny pulled the second dagger from his jacket, holding one in each hand, and turned toward the creature. He leapt forward through the air, coming in behind the lizard as it stood there, blind and confused, and he landed on its scaly back, plunging both daggers into its spine, trying to land both blows in killing spots. He knew this would kill any other creature, taken by such surprise, and as painlessly as he could manage. He wasn't sure if it would be enough now. But he could hope.

The sound of the bats screeching outside the relative safety of the tree was definitely frightening - Danny didn't consider it cowardice to have a healthy fear of things that could kill you. Bravery was fine and dandy when it didn't get you killed, and Danny wasn't a moron. He took a moment to catch his breath and glance around, looking up, up, higher and higher, to the ... ceiling? Interesting. Those noises reached his ears and he wondered what they might be, but there was nothing he could do about it now. He'd keep his wits about him and deal with whatever came down from there, but for now, it was irrelevant.
He peered down at the pedestal and the indentation, leaning forward just slightly to read what it said. He mouthed the words as he read, raising an eyebrow. Interesting. The fact that it was still pristine wasn't that out of the ordinary; after all, he was a mage, living in a city full of mages, so magic wasn't really shocking anymore. Still, it was something to note. "Seed blessed by .. huh." Wonder what that could mean.
Suddenly, his eyes darted to the movement on the wall. His daggers came up before him at the ready, and he narrowed his eyes, trying to pierce the darkness. Mental note; work on a spell that lets you see in the dark without creating a fire. Not that it would help him now, but it would undoubtedly be useful in the future. He sighed, shaking his head, letting that watched feeling sink in. Once again, he'd be ready; if something came for him, he'd respond appropriately, but until then, there was no sense in staring down shadows.
When he heard the light footsteps of the Warlocke enter the tree, he jumped and turned toward Maaren, daggers at the ready in a threatening stance. "Aaah!" He let out a very manly yelp of surprise, then laughed aloud at himself, shaking his head. He -knew- there would be others coming to investigate, and he mentally chided himself for being so surprised when one showed up. "Hah.. Whoa, shit, I'm sorry, I uh .. It's a bit tense in here." He smiled. He recognized the Warlock from town, obviously, but he couldn't place the name. His hand slipped into his jacket, where he deposited one of his daggers (the left hand still held one), and he let that hand hang at his side.
"Hey, man. I'm Danny."
He stood beside Maaren at the pedestal, nodding. "Yeah, weird, right? Have any ideas?" He peered at the riddle once more, sighing, taking a long breath and considering. "A seed.. Could it be as simple as casting a spell on a seed, and placing it here? That seems to easy, right?" Maybe it meant .. maybe Plant magic would do something? Better to try and fail than not try at all, right? So, that dagger in his left hand, he touched the tip of the blade to his right palm and made a small cut. He allowed a drop of blood to drip on to the pedestal, concentrating on the effect of his Green Thumb spell. "If you wanna make an omelette, right?" He chuckled.

I don't judge anybody for their abilities, only for their actions. Anybody who puts the Hollow's safety as a top priority has my support. I'm no front line fighter, but I'm a proficient scout and a long time guide, and I believe that my abilities could come in very handy for your noble purpose. Safety's for all of us, so I don't see why I shouldn't help out.
That being said, I already do regular patrols of the area. I consider it a part of my job description as a scout. So I'll still do my own individual patrols; I move faster by myself. However, I'd be more than happy to join others if they want to perform similar duties.
Guess that's a long way of saying, I'm in.

Danyal was good at keeping his wits about him, but those pesky elves were just quiet by their nature, light-footed bastards. Still, he was able to pick up on Eldak's footsteps before he was actually in sight, and he looked toward the man, watching him come toward the rock. He raised an eyebrow and studied the man and his hummingbird - that was an interesting looking creature. Had the elf found a purple egg as well? Danny had been desperately curious what the other purple eggs had contained, and he studied that bird closely as they approached.
When Eldak was near the foot of the rock he was perched atop of, Danny grinned from ear to ear, nodding down to the straightforward pirate. "Hey hey. How's it --" Before he could get out his response, Eldak's tactless but innoffensive question broke into the conversation, causing Danny to laugh and nod slowly. "I can, yeah. I suspect the salamander here is probably more skilled with it than I am, but I can use a bit." He reached a hand up toward the charcoal salamander, extending a finger to stroke underneath the creature's chin. "Not opposed to learning more, but I've only got the one trick for now."
And, with that, he clasped his hands together and started rubbing them vigorously. He pulled them apart and, just as before, there was a small ball of flame hovering between them. He extended his right palm out in front of himself, the flame resting in it, gently flickering in a light breeze. Then, he closed his hand into a fist, and the fire died out, licking little flames out from between his fingers before sputtering in a small cloud of smoke. "It's hand enough, especially when you're stuck outside at midnight with no shelter. That fire can save your life." He tilted his head and studied Eldak now, grinning. "Suppose I don't need to tell you how useful fire is, though. You seem the fire-y type."

Ah, Crann Mor. Danyal had wandered around this area more than a time or two since moving to Dorcha Hollow, but he'd yet to explore it extensively. He had the same reasons many before him had, he was sure; too busy, no good reason to waste the effort, et cetera, et cetera. For most, the truth was that the place scared them. And while he would never admit it, it scared Danny too. Not because of the chance of some terrible monster; he'd seen those before. Not because of the spooky noises; hell, he was fascinated with ghosts and things. No, he wasn't scared of those things. Truth was, he couldn't place exactly what had him so spooked. And now, it was time to face up to the nerves and get out to scope out the place. He was Danyal Brights, the best goddamned scout in the world, the Nightwatcher, for cryin' out loud!
And so, with confidence and a hopeful stride, Danny made his way to the edge of Crann Mor, intent on finally scoping the place out. Little did he know how eventful the locale would be; he certainly didn't think it would draw in others from town! Danny was in "Job Mode", which for him meant that he had social inklings in his body right now. He was here to do his job.
So he approached Crann Mor itself by skirting around through bushes and behind trees, always sticking to the shadows. When he neared it, he closed his eyes for a moment, willing a bit of magical energy through his body. He took a deep breath, calling on the element of Wind to encase his feet in a cloud of silence, and as he walked, he made no noise, even over leaves and twigs. It was from his position in the darkness that he witnessed the scene before him; that bloody squirrel dropping, the large batlike monsters swooping down, the massacred rabbit. Instinctively, the scout ducked down, crouching from his hiding spot, keeping his concentration on the spell to remain silent. When the screech happened, it took everything he had to hold concentration, and he felt like his eardrums would burst.
Surely that would draw some attention, and Danyal was not a fighter. He knew how to fight, yes, but he was not a front line fighter, especially not when he was alone. If others arrived, he may assist, but for now, he had no business diving into a suicidal battle against those creatures. The best option was to sneak into the tree itself when the creatures were otherwise occupied - perhaps the delicious rabbit would hold their attention long enough for him and his magical silence to sneak inside. He took a deep breath, steeled himself against the fear he felt of those creatures, and moved around the large dead tree toward the opening. Finally breaking away from his hiding place, he moved to the "door" and slipped inside.
There, he saw that pedestal, but he was unable to discern its nature or purpose. His eyes darted all around the interior of the tree, and he noticed he was able to see despite being inside. That wasn't all that odd in this glowing miracle of a forest, but it was still something to note. Very slowly, he stepped toward the pedestal. As he walked, he drew a pair of daggers out of his jacket, holding one in each hand. He inspected the pedestal as he approached, allowing the spell around his feet to subside, making soft footsteps until he reached it.

The egg hunt even was done and over with, and Danny was celebrating his particularly pleasant victory. He'd only acquired two eggs, but the first he'd gotten had contained the greatest prize he could have even imagined - a gorgeous Salamander familiar. He had bonded with the strange creature immediately, and decided to take it out of the city for a trip around the woods. It was only natural, he thought, to take the creature to Solas Circle, where he had found it. It was a beautiful area, to be sure, and he thought the salamander may enjoy the view.
And so, with familiar perched upon his shoulder, Danyal the Nightwatcher made his way out into Solas Circle once evening had hit and the sun had started to recede below the horizon. The glowing nature of these woods made sure that one could still see out here, and he loved the atmosphere it had. As he walked, he left his hands tucked in his pockets, glancing around all the while, ever present of his surroundings. "So, little guy, what am I gonna call ya?" he mused aloud as he walked. "I'm thinking Sal is a little too simplistic. But maybe that's not such a bad thing, huh?" He chuckled at that and turned his head to look at the coal-colored creature on his shoulder, which looked back at him with a look that was indescernable, because it was a freaking salamander. "You feel damn warm, little guy. I'm pretty excited to see what you can do. What we can do together, especially!"
He thought a moment about the magic he had practiced, about his elemental magic he'd worked on, and he rubbed his palms together quickly. After a moment, he pulled his hands apart, and resting in his right palm was a ball of fire about two inches in diameter. He smiled once again to the salamander, who flicked its tongue out, and winked. "We've got a little bit in common, at least." He laughed and clapped his hands together, causing the ball of flame to disperse in waves of heat licking up and around his arm. Then, he moved to a large rock, about five or six feet tall, and climbed up to the top of it. From his new perch, he let his legs dangle and rested his elbows on his knees, staring ahead of himself.
What a day.
At least there were no explosions this time, eh?

Watching the little guy work through his thought processes and come toward that inevitable excited response made Danny let out a small laugh as he held the hand in his palm, not even noticing the color, too distracted by the lad's antics. He smiled warmly, as Danny did when he was feeling particularly social, and pulled a cloth from one of his jacket's many pockets, preparing to wrap the egg. "Time Keeper, that's right. You're quite an interesting guy, Onork." Maybe there really wasn't a reason to feel intimidated by the Time Mage. After all, he seemed to be more or less just an ordinary kid. Danny felt himself relax a bit, but then remembered that explosion he'd heard earlier, realizing he should probably stay alert and on his toes.
"Ten freakin' eggs? That's pretty impressive, kid." He grinned and held up his own egg. "I've only got this one --" That's when the color caught his eye. "Ho-ly shit." Eyes wide. Mouth dropped. Hist first egg, the one he didn't even know if he really want to find, was purple?! A grin shot from the corners of his mouth and reached ear to ear, causing him to laugh. "Man, can you believe it?! Haha! YOU are my good luck charm, Onork!" He laughed once again, then carefully wrapped it up and tied the sash around his belt to hold it in place in a careful little egg hammock. "I'm sorry, what'd you say? Oh, right! Heh, yeah, kid, I'll be happy to take you back to town."
No sooner had he finished speaking than another glint of something standing out against the fauna caught his eye. "Well. In just a minute." He looked up and spotted what appeared to be an egg, caught in the branch of a nearby tree. As Onork tended to his own egg, Danny walked toward the tree. It was out of reach, and he didn't much feel like climbing a tree with his precious egg in cargo. After considering a moment, he took a deep breath, leaped a couple of feet into the air, and BAMF, he disappeared.
Instantly, he was higher up in the air, perched on that tree branch, imperceptible whisps of Dark magic misting off into the ether. He grinned and plucked that mysterious egg from its spot among the leaves, holding it between both hands. "Onork, my man, I think you're my new best friend." He chuckle and looked down at the robe-clad mage from his perch up in the tree. Today was a good day. He looked at the egg between his hands, inspecting it, and noted that the color waaaaas...

Danny had been avoiding the Egg Hunt for a while now. Sure, he was good at finding things. Great, in fact. That wasn't the issue. Hell, he frequently took jobs finding lost objects and people, and he never failed (okay, maybe he'd failed a time or two, but one doesn't advertise one's failings, right?). In fact, that was the very reason Danny had avoided coming out to search for eggs for so long. It felt too much like work. He loved going and exploring, and he loved finding new and exotic locations, but trying to search through well-known areas, looking for some little knick-knack? No, thank you. Much to Danny's surprise, he found himself roaming through Solas Circle. He told himself he wasn't here to find eggs. That was silly. A bunch of grown men and women, on their hands and knees in the dirt trying to find -- OH, WHAT'S THAT?! Spotting something shiny and round, the scout dove forward and lifted up a few small rocks, brushing aside a large leaf that concealed what was sure to be an egg. Finally, he found what had caught his eye - just a normal rock, albeit a somewhat pretty one, that had gotten wet and glistened under the ethereal light of the local plant life. He stood up and stared for a long moment at the rock he held in his left hand, then finally dropped it back down into the dirt. " Whatever, if it was an egg, I would have had to carry it, make sure it didn't crack, all the way back home. Would've been more hassle than it was worth, anyway." He spoke all of this aloud, more trying to convince himself than anything else. Then he laughed, then he sighed, and then he started walking again. Alright, fine, maybe I kinda wanted it to be an egg. I guess it is pretty cool, this big community event, everyone having fun, trying to find these little things. He smiled a bit, shrugging. He knew that all the while, of course, it just took a while to convince himself of that fact. And now that he knew he wanted to have fun, he was into it. Eyes peeled and wits about him, Danny was going to find at least one egg before the event was over, dammit. And where better to look than in this gorgeous part of Foraoise Dorcha, the Solas Circle! He loved the way this place looked at all hours of the day; the beautiful light that shone from the trees, the moss, everything. It bathed the area in such a unique look. You don't get to experience scenery like this everywhere, and he knew how lucky he was to be in such a great part of the world. Even if the events that led him here were a bit less than desirable. No time to think about that now, though. There were eggs to find! And Danny always -- BOOM! The sound of an explosion roared nearby. Instinctively, Danny disappeared from where he stood, seemingly from existence. Just as quickly as he had gone, he poofed back into reality hidden in a bush. He made no noise, he held his breath, and he didn't move a single muscle. After he was finally convinced that it was safe to move forward, he did so carefully, never leaving the shadows, even in this illuminated place. Forward he crept, spotting the chaotic scene up ahead. He recognized a few of the folks from around Foraoise Dorcha, of course, but given the nature of what had just happened, he thought it best to just remain quiet. That's when he saw that strange little fellow ahead, the small one with the hat and those glowing eyes. O..Onock? Onork? Was that his name? It was something like that. Seemed like a nice enough kid, but Danny hadn't really spoken to him. Very few things made Danny feel uneasy, but the little time mage was one of them. Not because of anything he'd done, mind you, but just because he felt like he had no power around him, and that made him feel uncomfortable. Still, if ever there was a time to make small talk, an innocent trip through the woods to collect eggs seemed like it! Just as he was about to step out of hiding, however, something caught his eye. There, not two feet from Onork, was an egg, nestled between two ferns. It seemed that the little mage's attention was elsewhere (on another egg!), and Danny knew that egg could be his. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, concentrating on his feet. He thought of the wind, silent and steady, encasing him, wrapping his footsteps in clouds. When he opened his eyes again, he looked down; the bottoms of his feet had that whispy, ethereal look that let him know his spell had taken effect, and he would make no noise as he stepped, even over twigs and dry leaves. He set his eyes on Onork, then on that egg, and he started moving forward. He was quick, and he was silent, and just as Onork was picking up an own egg, Danny grabbed his own. He grinned as he held it in his hand, then looked down at the little time mage. " Hey, you found one too, huh?" He chuckled and sighed, smiling happily, getting into the spirit of the event. " Well, good on us, then. What's up? Onork, right? Did I get that right?" (( OOC: I promise I don't generally type that much, so please don't expect me to be this extensive every time. It's easier to do on entry posts, after all ))

Post by Danyal Brights on May 8, 2014 4:52:38 GMT -5
| NIGHTWATCHER TWENTY-SEVEN (27) MAY 15 | MALE STRAIGHT~ISH SCOUT | DANYAL "DANNY" BRIGHTS |
★ APPEARANCE
Danny, a human, stands about 5'8" tall, with a toned physique that's more focused on speed and agility than strength and power. His blonde hair is generally kept out of his face by a navy bandanna, tied into a tight knot behind his head. The hair that frills out from below the bandanna is shaggy and reaches a few inches past his ears. Unless he's on a job or otherwise intensely focused, his brown eyes are lit up by the smile always on his face. Both ears are pierced by fine golden earrings, and he wears multiple beaded necklaces, mostly made by friends or the children of friends.
He tends to prefer darker clothing, although he rarely wears black. Wearing darker colors makes it easier to navigate through shadowed areas at night, and also just happens to mesh with his personal sense of style. He almost always wears his jacket, dark navy with a grey lining inside. Inside, there are a number of hidden pockets sewn into said lining, allowing for him to palm small objects, from coins to knives. At all times, he keeps a silver dagger at his hip, tucked away in a sheath. When on a job or on the rare occasion that he thinks he'll need more than that, he carries a rapier as well.
★ PERSONALITY
Danny tends to be quiet in many situations, although this by no means is because he is antisocial or introverted. He just prefers to observe and listen. However, he won't hesitate to involve himself in a conversation if he wants to. His naturally quiet nature may lead others to think him unapproachable, but he's definitely a charismatic guy, and counts many among his friends. He might be a bit aloof, perhaps, and when on the job he definitely prefers to work alone; when it comes to stealth and scouting, he doesn't trust others not to hold him back. Which might appear arrogant. Okay, okay, he's just a little bit arrogant. But in his defense, so are most wizards.
Which leads to a slightly unrelated tangent; Danny definitely doesn't call himself a Wizard. Not that he sees anything wrong with that, but it's just not the word he'd use to describe himself. If asked, he'd call himself a "pretty damn talented individual", then wink and laugh. If pressed, he would say he preferred the phrase "in tune with the elements", then try to change the subject before admitting that "Mage" is a pretty cool word.
On that note, he definitely doesn't judge others for their chosen magical specializations; he's aware that everybody adapts to the hand they were dealt, and even the most dour warlock is usually trying his best to survive in a difficult world. In fact, through development of his dark magic, he's taken an interest in some shadier (but quite interesting!) arts, such as necromancy and demonic magic. Such things are very intriguing to him, and he would love to try to learn something about them.
Likes: Alone time, nature, freedom, social time Dislikes: People who pry, being underwater, goody two-shoes (they're so boooring)
★ HISTORY
Danyal Brights was born to two busy laborers, his mother a woodworker and his father a fisherman. He lived in a fishing village along a coast, surrounded on three sides by a dense forest, which is where he spent the majority of his childhood, both with friends and by himself. From an early age, he befriended many wood elves from a nearby village (although he never knew just where their village was), in addition to his primarily human friends from his home village. In the woods, playing hide and seek and such games with his friends, he became very proficient in stealth and survival skills, able to forage food, find shelter, and stay hidden even in daylight.
As he matured, Danny soon realized that his natural affinity for stealth and survival developed into (or perhaps from) a magical affinity for similar skills. One day, when playing hide and seek, he was concentrating very hard on remaining quiet as he moved. Before he knew it, he heard the sound of his footsteps melt away; imagine his surprise when he looked down to see his feet whispy and under the influence of Wind magic! A friend came around the corner and saw him, and in a moment of panic, Danny threw his hands up, inadvertently casting a spell of blinding on his friend, feeling Dark magic course through him. Terrified, Danny ran home, trying to rationalize what had happened - certainly he knew that Magic was real, but he wasn't a wizard! He was just a normal kid.
Luckily for Danny, his magic was very covert; the very nature of it demanded that it was difficult to detect. In his teenage years, he started taking jobs as a scout and a guide in the woods. He kept training his magical ability, hiding it from everybody, and when asked why he was so good at what he did, he would jokingly say he was just good at staying out of trouble. Eventually, his magic matured to allow him to blink from spot to spot, which proved immeasurably useful on many occasions. However, it also led to his magical ability being discovered; one day, while defending a few villagers from a bandit raid, a sword was coming toward his neck. Reflexively, he blinked five feet straight back, right in front of half of the village. The bandits were fought off, and while Danny was praised for his ability, nobody looked at him the same after that.
Eventually, when he was 20 years old, Danny decided to leave his village in search of more. He needed to explore, to learn new things, meet new people, and just live life. He roamed the countryside, especially towns and villages near forests, and took odd jobs here and there. Whenever a settlement needed something tracked and found, or someone needed an escort, or needed something hidden, Danny was their man. For years he wandered, making friendships, visiting the same towns time and time again, always traveling and always working. Among the populace, he earned the title "Nightwatcher", to symbolize his abilities.
Eventually, he started encountering people intolerant of his particular abilities (which he tried to keep on the downlow, but people talk). Most of the time, his friendships and connections kept him safe, but one day he entered a familiar township to find half of the population ready to riot against him. The bodies of two Wizards lay in the streets as a sign of what the town had come to, and Danny was attacked as soon as he was seen. This was enough to force him into hiding. As much as he hated to give up the world he had grown to love, he followed rumor after rumor and eventually found his way to Foraoise Dorcha. Here, he found like-minded people, who weren't ashamed of their abilities. While he has always remained hesitant to call himself a "Wizard", he definitely enjoyed the kinship and camaraderie among the community. Many there already knew him as "Nightwatcher", and he resumed his job without missing a step.
Now, Danyal continues to perfect his magic while acting as a scout, guide, and tracker. He learned to channel his magical abilities through the natural world that he so loved, developing a second style of magic which he calls "One With Nature". When asked what he called his primary for of magic, he simply told people he was good at "Staying Out Of Trouble" with a smile. His natural affinity among the wilderness has led to good fortune in Foraoise Dorcha, and while he misses the life he left behind, he's starting to enjoy his new one. ★ MAGIC PRIMARY SPECIALIZATION: STAYING OUT OF TROUBLE (SOOT) (Support)Danny likes to act like his magic is incredibly informal, hence the name of his primary style, but in reality he puts just as much work and effort into his techniques as anybody else. "Staying Out of Trouble" (or "Soot" magic) is his focus because his work as a scout frequently requires stealth and evasion, or even outright trickery. As such, while the effects of his spells might be noted by his absence or ability to dodge attacks, the actual casting of those spells generally goes unnoticed out of necessity. Soot magic is Support.INTERMEDIATE BLINK AND YOU'LL MISS MEBy use of this spell, the user instantaneously blinks out of existence and appears anywhere in a five foot radius. This isn't enough to teleport anywhere meaningfully, nor can he move through more than an inch or so of solid material, but he can use it in combat, or if he's been spotted, to escape a potentially threatening situation before it gets worse for him; for instance, if an attack that he can see is moving toward him, it would allow him to avoid it, and if he was spotted in some bushes, he might be able to blink backwards and out of sight to salvage his stealth. (Null element [Space]).BEGINNER NOW YOU SEE ME, NOW YOU DON'TFor a brief time, the target's eyes are obscured by dark magic. No innate sight can pierce this cloud, although an appropriate Light spell could easily breach it. The effect doesn't last long, only a few moments (1 post), but it could be enough to give the user time to escape, either using a more potent spell or by more mundane means. While under the effects of this spell, the target's pupils turn a deep, dark black, and appear to look smokey in their eyes. (Dark element)BEGINNER QUIET AS A MOUSEAs long as he concentrates on this spell, the user's footsteps are completely silent to innate hearing. He can step over twigs, leaves, and creaky floorboards, and still make no noise. While concentrating on this spell, the user may not take complex actions (basically, he can only move, not attack or cast other spells), and though his steps are inaudible to innate hearing, appropriate spells can pierce the effect. When under the effect of this spell, the user's feet appear whispy and smokey near the soles. (Wind element)SECONDARY SPECIALIZATION: ONE WITH NATURE (OWN)(Support)While the primary focus of Danny's magical talents lie in evading detection or avoiding combat, a large part of scouting unfamiliar wilderness lies in having basic survival skills; foraging for food, finding shelter, et cetera. In order to better facilitate his already impressive survival skills, Danny has developed a specialization of magic that allows him to tap into the natural world around him. While this focus was developed specifically for wilderness survival, it also opens a wide variety of abilities involving the natural world. With effort, this could definitely be a versatile specialization, although his primary focus remains with his Soot magic. Some effects of this magic, particularly Plant of Water effects, may require the use of blood; it should be noted that it is not "blood magic", per sé. It's simply using the user's life to interact with other life. No harm can come of such effects. One With Nature (Own) magic is Support.BEGINNER GREEN THUMBBy nicking the user's palm lightly and letting a single drop of blood fall on to a patch of dirt, a small plant no larger than a foot tall grows up. The plant immediately (1 post later) sprouts multiple reddish-black berries that taste sweet and fill the belly of exactly one person. If more than one person tries to share the berries, neither will feel any fulfillment. These berries are enough to feed a person for an entire day; the person who consumes the berries will certainly still feel hungry, as if they had eaten the bare minimum to survive, but they will be nourished. This plant is obviously supernatural to anybody who knows anything about botany, and cannot be found anywhere in the natural world. (Plant element)BEGINNER I'M ON FIRE!By rubbing both palms together vigorously and then separating them, a small ball of fire approximately two inches in diameter appears between the user's hands. This fire can be used to ignite flammable material, such as a campfire or a piece of paper. This fire cannot be used to ignite a living animal, including humans and the like, and if the conjured fire touches the flesh of a living creature, it will dissipate instantly without effect. However, once the flame has been used to ignite something, that fire will hurt to touch just as any other. If the conjured fire is not used to ignite something, it can be easily held in the user's hand without harming him for a short time (2 posts), at which point it will dissipate if unused.
